This is incredible stuff. Almost too shocking to be believed but what I already know of history and human nature, I'm thinking it could be entirely possible. I just saw a medical news program alerting black women of a specific very deadly breast cancer that almost exclusively targets black women and moves aggressively...called DOUBLE NEGATIVE something...I find it hard to believe disease can be so selective without being engineered to do so. Curious that Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands is significant in this group of largely if not entirely white heirarchy of world bankers, media moguls, politicians and industrialists. I may believe it... Blacks as a group, with a good lawyer, might prove it. http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread328301/pg1# Watch the video ENDGAME

What was your thought about it? and is she forgivable? I know this matters are serious, and offending, our race was also ridiculed by some prominent people in the US ( but I'm nOt stereotyping ) but since they have the media to disseminate some wrong-choice of words to the world in seconds. when i first saw the News about the calamity in China, I was astounded... thoes people are just alive yesterday! and then Saron Stone's comments. I don't think she realize the gravity of the situation. In the other hand she's making an effort to apologize.... don't get me wrong im just an honest observer. - fellow asian

  7. Resolved Question: please briefly explain the following article, please!?
  8. 31 May 2008 at 11:01am
Global media is such a large machine that much of the world's population is employed by it. On the surface, it seems like media refers only to reporters or newscasters, but behind the front lines there is a huge network of human beings making sure that it is run efficiently and non-stop. Consider that news is a 24 hour, 7 day a week institution. It doesn't take a holiday when it is Christmas, nor does it take a summer holiday in July as students do. It doesn't sleep because when it is night in Toronto, it is day in Hong Kong or Japan. News follows the sun as it goes from New York, to Los Angeles, to Australia, then Europe, the Far East and back to North America. There is always something happening and there is always an audience hungry to know what is going on locally and around the world. In each city hundreds if not thousands of people maintain the television stations, cameras, computers, or drive the trucks in search of news. There are people translating news from many different languages to other languages. There are fact-checkers and editors who make sure the news sounds professional. There are lawyers on hand to make sure that what is said does not result in any lawsuits. There are wardrobe consultants to suggest what to wear in front of the camera. There are technical staff to fix things if they are broken. More importantly, there are satellites and fibre optic networks which send the news all around the globe seconds after it happens. All of these activities is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what is necessary for you to be able to watch that news program when you get home from work, or read that article in the New York Times as you eat your breakfast, or read a up to the minute website posting on a famous website, www.forbes.com, for example. The media employs many people and hosts many different careers and as a result, students who study media will benefit from this

  9. Resolved Question: Amitabh Bachchan : Great Actor, Horrible Person ???
  10. 31 May 2008 at 3:13am
Hi , Here's shocking news for Bollywood - old movies lovers! A close acquaintance of mine who used to work for Mr. Bachchan delivered this news: He swore that Amitabh spends his free time at Rekha's home (even today) which is why his family (including Jaya and Abhishek) disrespects him! Amitabh's family even say bad words to him. He also said that if the media found out out this and other stuff he does, they probably would spit on his face! In real life he's a uncaring, selfish, proud, greedy man. I'm so not kidding! I used to love Amitabh, his style, and acting but not anymore; Shahrukh rocks! Such a letdown! I do admit he's still a fantastic actor, better than anyone else. If you research, you'll find out that he fooled big stars by pertending to like them and flirting with almost all the actresses. I do believe his biggest support is that that he's religious. He is a angry young man in real life, too! I am really not lying. What are your comments (on him and Rekha)?

  13. Resolved Question: Are the international media failing Africa?
  14. 31 May 2008 at 2:36am
Or is Africa failing the international media? Is Africa receiving negative press because that is how their media portray them? Do the South African press and media influence the international media correspondents' coverage of the country? Do the international media reflect the country that the South African news publications portray? . "Much as we could beseech the international media to give balanced reporting on Africa, we are all convinced the lasting solution will come from within Africans and African governments themselves." ~ Kintu Musoke, former Prime Minister of Uganda ~

News Corp Chief Executive Rupert Murdoch on Wednesday predicted a Democratic landslide in the U.S. presidential election against a gloomy economic backdrop over the next 18 months. Murdoch has yet to endorse a U.S. presidential candidate but considers Barack Obama very promising, the media magnate said in an interview by two Wall Street Journal reporters at an annual conference for high-tech industry insiders. News Corp recently acquired ownership of the Journal and its parent company Dow Jones & Co. "You have got the Obama phenomenon. You have got, undoubtedly, a recession ... The average American is really getting hurt financially and that all bodes well for him (Obama), Murdoch said.

  19. Resolved Question: please explain the following article, please!?
  20. 30 May 2008 at 6:39pm
We live in a society that is proud of ever larger and larger televisions and hundreds if not thousands of channels for our viewing. We exist in a world where internet speeds allow us to download a DVD-quality movie in just under an hour and soon, scientists suggest that the time could be cut down to seconds. We live in a world of second by second news and data and we are always hungry for more. For these reasons, Media, the vehicle by which news and information is made known to the public, should be studied in schools. The importance of Media arises primarily from how it shapes our thinking, is an umbrella for a diverse range of career possibilities, and most importantly is our window to the world in such that it provides us with a world view.

  21. Resolved Question: Is it me or..........?
  22. 30 May 2008 at 6:39pm
do you think the media are blowing the story of the mother "shopping her sons" way out of proportion overly reporting it and pointing out some people don't agree with her etc and acting like it was some big moral dielema. It just seems to me that they are saying there is a chance she was in the wrong and she might just have something to feel bad about, i think it is clear cut really considering the state the man was left in and the boys bragged about it. Am i reading too much into it? Or do you think she should feel abit bad? Sorry for the typos and if you have no idea what i am on about here is a link http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23488567-details/Mother%20shopped%20her%20 thug%20sons%20after%20they%20blinded%20man%20in%20vicious%20attack/article.do?expand= true Great to see support for her :) Her older sons have banned her from seeing her grandchildren and cut her out of their lives... Star strickle no need for the tone i have heard this story about 5 times today thats not even including any newspaper stories, im just asking if it seems like by reporting this story over does it make it seem like she might have done something wrong? and BTW to you no i haven't. You are not funny terry.... starstrickle, i didn't ask you to star the question, i never ask people to do that at all....... why would i? anyway no, funnily enough it was not news 24. thank you kindly peter, long time no see :)

  23. Resolved Question: If the US had a new constitution what would you put in it?
  24. 30 May 2008 at 4:35pm
Just say someone found a way of taking the ignorant portion of Americans out of their Bush-Murdoch-FoxNews trance, & there was a revolution that led to a new US constitution being made. What would you put in the constitution to ensure we never fell into the hole we're all in now? I'll start it off: I'd make it illegal for any government official to use the media to incite fear. I'd make it illegal for a person or corporation to use the media - like Rupert Murdoch uses Fox News - to incite fear. I'd pay every government official a million dollars a year, but make it absolutely illegal to have any business dealings outside that of his/her job in government. I'd make it illegal for a president to use fear as an excuse to take away any part of the constitution. I'd make government officials take lie detector tests. The US constitution was created over 200 years ago, when there was no Fox News/News Corp Intl to manipulate the ignorant masses. Maybe it's time for a new constitution

When Is Disclosure Allowed? April works for a law firm that has been involved in the defense of an accused criminal for a number of years. The crime and the ensuing trial were given a substantial amount of attention by the news media. The client is now in prison serving a life sentence, but he still maintains that he is innocent. April has always been interested in writing and would like to write a series of magazine articles based on this clients history. April and the client have become pen pals over the years, and the client now writes letters to April at home. April thinks that the letters contain excellent material that she could use to show what the convicted criminal thinks about. She thinks readers would be interested in the thoughts, feelings, and fantasies of the criminal. Is is appropriate for April to be receiving private letters from the firms client at home without the attorneys knowledge? Would April be allowed to disclose the contents of the letter in a magazine Thank you for your responses so far. I am getting a better idea as to what the answer is, however I would like a few more responses to get a much better idea. Thank you

  31. Resolved Question: Why won't the obama loving media report this?
  32. 30 May 2008 at 11:01am
That Obama is a chain smoker Obama has admitted to cocaine and marijuana use in his teenage years, but it's his use of cigarettes that has merited national media attention. The New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd wrote that his penchant for butts makes the Democrat "intriguingly imperfect," while Fox News Channel's John Gibson has called it "Obama's dirty little secret" and argued that it makes him wonder "what else do we not know about Barack Obama?" (This literally days before Gibson helped spread the false smear that Obama attended an Indonesian madrassa as a youth.) http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Story?id=2855994&page=2

  43. Resolved Question: Does the media influence public opinion a little too much?
  44. 30 May 2008 at 12:27am
I find the media in my country mixes its own interpretations of a story along with the news, and so the people watching/reading it have little chance to form their own opinions based on the facts. They just end up following the media view. Should the media stick to reporting facts and let the public form its own opinion? It may lose them some money, but being responsible media takes more importance than being rich media. Media in my country becomes rich by dissing politicians (generally). People like the media dissing politicians. But do those politicians deserve to be dissed? I feel money and interest should play less of a role than reponsibility Rebel man, even I notice the more negative stories trickling out. In my country, instead of pointing out what good things the government is doing for the people, the media is too busy pointing out the shortcomings and dissing those in power. No wonder the ruling party always loses the next election in India. Rebel man, that is sad.

  48. 29 May 2008 at 10:58pm
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080530/ap_on_el_pr/obama_pfleger I believe that all the candidates are entitled to their own religious beliefs, and they shouldn't have to justify their beliefs to the media, but come on people. This isn't an issue of faith at this point, it's an issue of race. If two clergymen at Obama's church hold these radical and divisive views on race, doesn't it kind of send up some red flags?

Reuters BEIJING (Reuters) - Luxury retailer Christian Dior has pulled advertisements featuring Sharon Stone from stores across China after the actress suggested the country's earthquake was "bad karma" for Beijing's policies in Tibet. At least 68,000 people died in the May 12 quake in southwest China, which came months after unrest in Tibet that sparked an international outcry over Beijing's handling of the predominantly Buddhist region, which Communist troops entered in 1950. "Due to some customer reaction we have decided to pull her image from all of the department stores and from all of China," Christian Dior China said in a statement. Stone has a modeling contract with the cosmetics arm of the luxury retailer for which newly rich China is a fast-growing market. "We just want our customers and fans to realize that her personal comments are not related to the company and of course we don't support any type of commentary that will hurt the feelings of our customers," Dior said. The Beijing Times reported that Chinese cinemas would not show Stone's films, though China already strictly limits the number of foreign movies it distributes in theatres. Her movies include "Basic Instinct" in 1992 and "Casino" and "The Quick and the Dead," both in 1995. Stone apologized for her comments in remarks carried in Chinese media on Thursday. "In the course of the interview I made inappropriate remarks and for any harm created towards the Chinese people I am extremely sad and apologize," the Beijing News quoted Stone as saying in a Chinese translation of her statement. China's Foreign Ministry also weighed in on the controversy. "We hope that as an American actress she can contribute to our two people's trust, understanding and friendship," spokesman Qin Gang told a news conference. In Stone's initial remarks made on the red carpet at the Cannes film festival, she called the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism -- whom China reviles as a traitor -- a "good friend." After mentioning the Tibet unrest she said in the comment replayed on video-sharing Web site YouTube: "And then all this earthquake and all this stuff happened, and I thought, is that karma -- when you're not nice that the bad things happen to you?" Chinese bloggers, who were particularly active in criticizing the West over its attitude towards Tibet, have exploded in anger over Stone's comments. "Don't give any attention to this old lady -- don't watch her movies, don't buy the products she represents," read one. Another called her a "dirty swine." In response to a China Daily story on Stone, one reader wrote, "All Chinese should boycott her to let her know our power ... She should go to hell."

  87. Resolved Question: So i was reading on Haaretz.com and i came across a story?
  88. 29 May 2008 at 4:07am
The story was about how some in Israel burn the New Testament much like Hitler burnt Jewish books. It seems that a lot of the Israeli Jews have no love or respect what so ever for Christianity or the Christian Bible. My question is two-fold. First, how do a lot of you Christians who support Israel so much feel about the fact that many Israelis do not even respect your religion. Second, why do we never hear about these burnings in the Western Media? If anyone else were burning Bibles (or the Koran) it would make the news. Here is a link to the story. http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/986787.html Iraq war is old news in the American media now. It is all about ELECTION 08!!! The media decides what we will talk about around the water cooler for the most part. Savedbygrace, you may be right as it is Messianic Jews who are being discriminated against. Iame, one can be a Jew and not be of the Jewish religion. I also was not trying to condemn others. I am simply curious as to how those who support Israel because of their beliefs in Christianity feel about things like this. I will agree that it shows a lack of respect on the Christian side to come into the homeland of the Jewish religion and tell them that they are wrong.

  89. Resolved Question: Is Obama smarter than a Fifth Grader?
  90. 29 May 2008 at 2:37am
First he thinks that the City of Sunrise Florida is called Sunshine. He thinks that people in Iraq speak Arab. He thinks he visited 57 states and has one more to visit except Alaska and Hawaii, so he thinks we have 60 states! The story of The Kennedy's brought his father from Africa to America. He lied and said that his uncle liberated Auschwitz which time doesn't jive with his story. Him and his campaign lied about the 75,000 crowd in Oregon. the media failed to disclose that there was a rock concert there before his rally. most of the people there was not there to see him. The media is so in the tank for Obama its sad. If this was Hillary or even McCain rest of sure it would be in bold words on your TV screen. only fox news report about these gaffs. What next? He can fly? (his supporters already think he does) He also think that 10,000 people in Kansas died bye a tornado when only 12 poeple did.

"We have seen people receiving Christ every week, but I believe it is just the beginning. The atmosphere of God's presence is amazing?" Recently on Breaking Christian News, we published a news story, which has been carried by several major media outlets since then, about Val Thomas?a woman who was brain-dead and who, against all medical odds, has returned to life. It was only after that story was published that I was able to obtain additional information on that situation, which gives even more glory to God. In fact, three people were saved in Val's family alone, because of her resurrection. The following is that report from a member of Val's church: "?the story is true. In fact, the lady (Val Thomas) was in the hospital; brain dead. They had already called the funeral home. The family had three relatives that were not saved. Two family members told God if He would allow her to live, they would give their life to God. The other was Val's 70-year-old brother who had already left the hospital after she died. When they took her off life support, and after she woke up, she wanted to know where her son was. So they phoned the brother to come back to the hospital, and he hit his knees and gave his life to Christ too. The testimony was given Sunday morning at church and that's when the anointing broke out." As we mentioned in our first report, a fact often left out of major media stories about Val Thomas' healing, is that the whole thing happened shortly after one of the church members had visited the Florida Healing Outpouring meetings in Lakeland, and upon returning, prayed for the same outpouring of God to break out in their own church (which happened to be Val's). It occurred to me that some of our BCN readers may not be familiar with "revival meetings," and how God often moves in them, or how they are sometimes "contagious-by-the-Spirit," and similar moves-of-God seem to pop up in other areas?an "anointing" seemingly carried by people who come to a meeting, are touched by God in some way, and bring that "fire" back with them to their own fellowship. Some may be inclined to be skeptical, something I also battle at times. However, Jesus said that a tree is known by its fruit. (Matt. 7:15-20) That's why I was excited to hear of such fabulous fruit resulting from visiting the meetings in Florida?healing, salvations. CLICK HERE to read other testimonies from the Florida Healing Outpouring. Even in just a purely practical way, there was fruit coming from the Florida Outpouring meetings early on. It was reported by MSNBC that during the first month, as the meetings began to grow in size, they were temporarily moved to Joker Marchant Stadium, where the Detroit Tigers play spring training baseball. There was a concern that there might be damage to the carefully prepared field in light of the crowds of people. However, according to Lakeland park department official Bob Donahay, "Organizers and revival-goers alike treated the facility with great respect and stayed off the grass. We didn't know what to expect," he said. "But they were model tenants." The report went on to say: "Friday night's big crowd left a large amount of trash, as is typical for a big event. Parks officials provided trash bags to the organizers for Saturday and Sunday, and the revival attendees cleaned up the vast amount of their trash each night. And, according to Donahay, "They're a really, really nice group of people." In addition, one person interviewed by MSNBC?who obviously did not condone the meetings?had to agree that they were actually helping the area financially. "It's helping our economy," he said. "People got to eat; they got to stay in hotels. And I'm picking up a lot more hours, even though we're coming into the slow season. So maybe he's bringing some healing to this area after all."

  93. Resolved Question: Desensitizing of America...?
  94. 29 May 2008 at 12:07am
Have you noticed a trend now a days in the news and in the media in general that we are slowly being drawn into the ideas of our civil liberties are really not worth much any longer? The "emphasis" is on "safety", right? Here are two profound thoughts and I would like to hear what people think about them. 1. He who controls the "oil" controls the military of the world. 2. He who controls the "food" controls the world period.

Why can't they ever report nice things. It makes me so sad when i listen or read the news because all I hear are tragedies, disasters, and wars across the world. Why can't they ever report well.. happy things? You do get the occasional happy thing but the majority is based on the problems of the world. It makes me so depressed just thinking about it. Why do the media do it?< >
